This huge five masted ship was launched in Germany on May 7th 1902,
but on November 6th 1910 her life as an impressive trading ship was cut short when
accidentally rammed by a British cross-channel ferry near the Port of Dover.  
Severely disabled, she was stranded 2.5 kilometres east of the port.
